Hoy me apetece enseñaros otro icono del siglo XX. El espejo Adnet.

Otra vez la dichosa palabrita "Icono"

Ya se que abusamos de ella, sobre todo ciertos gurus de la decoración, moda, tendencias, cine etc....que se le va a hacer, esta todo inventado,

 La utilizamos sobre todo cuando queremos enfatizar el caracter "pionero" de algo. Marilyn Monroe fue y sigue siendo icono de la sensualidad, no es que no haya habido mujeres exuberantes antes que ella, y por supuesto después, pero es su imagen voluptuosa la que nos asalta las retinas al imaginarnos un "icono de la sensualidad". Pues lo mismo sucede con el espejo de Adnet.

A riesgo de no ser ni una pizca original en cuanto a iconografia se refiere, voy a enseñaros como un espejo aparentemente sencillo, puede transformar diferentes estancias.
Nació de la feliz unión de Jacques Adnet, diseñador francés famoso por sus diseños Art Decó y la firma de moda Hermés, para su colección de muebles de cuero.

Actualmente lo fabrica la firma Gubi.

Today I feel like showing you another XX century icon: The Adnet mirror.

Yet again, the word icon comes up.

I am aware that we use and abuse that word, especially certain decoration or fashion gurus, or trend setters or in films, etc. What can we do, everything is already invented.
We use the word when we want to emphasize the pioneering character of something.. Marilyn Monroe was, and still is, an icon of sensuality. It is not that there haven’t been other women as exuberant as her, before and after, but it is her voluptuous image that comes to mind when we try to imagine how a sensuality icon could be.

At the risk of appearing less than original regarding icons, I want to show you how a seemingly simple mirror can transform different rooms.
This object was born of the happy union of Jacques Adnet, famous Art Decó designer, and Hermés, the Haute Couture firm, for their leather furniture collection.
